I am extremely worried. Observing the American (the U.S.) economy and the world's, it looks like we all are heading into something.

Clearly notable, the American economic growth and the money spending has been decreased from theAmerican mini-golden ages during the late 1990's.

Not only that, but also there are very costly war on Iraq and war on terrorism, that does not seem to be over on foreseeable future.

I have a bad feeling that the American economy is going to have some harsh times ahead (and consequently, the world as well).

The most critical problem is, the majority of people do not take this seriously.

Do you agree? If or if not, then why?

Yes. If we are going to outsource jobs as fast as we do it now - pretty soon we all be working at the counter in McDonald's serving food to foreigners. My company looks more like Bombay now, than the American Company. I have nothing against Hindu people, but we will eventually loose in the war for leadership in technology and progress, while corporations are chasing after $$.
Sad!

I agree, another person mentioned the Ford company's problems. She is right. But I feel that it is a minor issue within a larger problem. Corporations sell people things they don't need. They create a products, and through agressive marketing and advertising sell it. Not only that, but many people go into debt trying to "Keep up with the Joneses'' as they say. This debt, whether economists and government officials admit it, is a big problem. I can't imagine how people could be so reckless and irresponsible with their spending habits. A major problem of American capitalism that differs from the teachings of Adam Smith, is that consumers are not educated enough to make many of these choices.

Considering the recent Ford cut in jobs and they are unable to sell trucks and suvs, yes, things are bad. The media and GB are able to BS the public into thinking its good... its sad really. Things are bad... and the ones who believe its bad don't even know the damage because the meida won't disclose it as a whole.

We still have an economy? Wow, I'm amazed. I thought it had all got outsourced by the Bush administration. How I wish I was "irrationally exhuberant" with Clinton again.
