Because far greater numbers of Iraqis are now being killed daily...I am glad that mission has been accomplished and that we've finally reached yet another turning point...
...what a mess.

They stopped reporting the number of dead troops because it's becoming depressing. It's been depressing! Yes, the number is overall important, every single person that dies in Iraq deserves to not only be a number but really count for something. That can't put a name to every person that dies, so who want to hear that their relative was number 2,521 to die. It's just not relative to the pain everyone is feeling.

The media only reports what it wants people to hear. If they keep on reporting the loss of american lives in IRAQ, they will be sending out a message thay they do not want to even though it is the truth.

We still do. The numbers are still being reported. It's just the Americans are focusing less on the number of casualties. Americans are more wrapped up in the debate of whether or not we should be in Iraq in the first place.
But to answer your question, the numbers are still being updated, and the numbers will only climb.

It depends on what media you're tuned into. The "fair and balanced" channel is calling itself that because it is just the opposite. Try reading BBC News online, or tuning into NPR. Both these media have excellent websites, and a liberal bias, admittedly. But sometimes one has to go far to the left to counter-correct for the extreme right-wing bias in the mainstream news media. It all balances out in the end. Above all, don't be afraid to question what you read and hear. Good luck.

i have wondered the same thing. a soilder from Wisconsin was killed last month in Iraq and i never heard a thing on the news.. Its very sad that we dont make a big deal out of it anymore. Its more than a number, its respect to the families of those soldiers.

They did? That's news to me. Here in San Diego, they have a nightly report on who died, both Iraqi and American.

Because Bush ordered them to, and the compliant media said, Sir, yes sir!" He also banned photographs of the arriving dead soldiers.
Anyone who makes the claim that the media is liberally biased doesn't read the newspaper or watch the news. It is a controlled media by whichever party is in power.
