Well at first one is tempted to answer 'the virus,' however, viruses are not classified as biological entities.

Due strictly to a lack of information one of the most unreasonably feared animals in the world is the snake. Spiders rank a close second. With justification when we are in their element the shark is one of my top ten, as are the crocodilian reptiles.

Living in Houston and with the rabid bat incidents in the news here as of late, I would have to say that a rabid bat currently tops my list.

Do you mean what animal is most feared for it's size, or what animal engenders the most fear despite its size? Assuming you meant the latter, I'd go with the mosquito. Teeny-tiny, but with the capability of transmitting any number of deadly diseases.

RAT

When it came to the Rat, it simply said, 'I am the king of the jungle!' Everyone laughed but the Rat continued, 'Who do you think was the king of the jungle?' When all the animals agreed that the Elephant was, the Rat swiftly ran into the ear canal of the Elephant and brought it to its knees. Feared? Spiders and Snakes. Most Dangerous? Mosquito, with the possible exception of Man, while the mosquito carries disease, it is doubtful that the mosquito is capable of wiping out 90% of life on this planet while man is quite capable of that exact thing.
