And if so do you think that there will be a movement to impeach George W Bush?

Democrats have the mainstream media promoting the fact that the "potential" for the recapture of the house in senate is a "real possibility". Notice how the primaries came and went and there were no big headlines regarding upsets, the same will probably follow suit in November. But of course they will still be able to claim moral, or ideological victories in their losses.

I think the democrats will have a small majority in the House but the Senate will stay republican. That's OK because it still means that Bush will finally be accountable someone other than his own party. However if the senate is still in republicans hands then even if the house votes for articles of impeachment he will never be convicted in the senate.

I hope the Democrats will take both the House and Senate. But, if it does happen, why impeach Bush? He'll be relatively powerless without Congress on his side, and then he's gone in 2 years. I'd rather see the Democratic congress put its energy into fixing some of the problems Bush has caused.

Likely, no. It'll be closer, but all recent polls point to Republicans retaining the majority in both houses.

Also, dislike him as much as you want, but even if Bush were impeached, he won't be removed from office.

See, first of all, you have to understand that impeachment DOESN'T mean that an elected official is removed from office....all it means is that said elected official is subjected to the legislative proceedings that COULD ultimately lead to his or her removal from office. Clinton was impeached....but (obviously) wasn't removed from office.

In order to be "convicted" and forcibly removed from office, a trial in the Senate, followed by a two-thirds majority vote in favor if conviction is required...and that just isn't gonna happen.

Those who believe that once democrats are in control of congress that everything will be alright are sorely mistaken.

And yes, the dems will probably take control, or thats how it looks now anyway. Maybe Georgie is waiting to bring OSAMA to the surface to gain the republicans some points in the race. (C'mon, we all know this is a viable reality)

And do I think Bush will be impeached, NO.

But he has commited impeachable offences.

I wish they would, but I doubt it. They may take one of them. I think the past few years have shown us what can happen when one party has two much control. Maybe gridlock is a better option than running full steam ahead off a CLIFF. Bush will not be impeached, although he should be held responsible for war crimes after he is out of office, just as Sadam has been. Politicians and CEO's should not be allowed to hide behind their offices. As to big government, pehaps everyone should be better informed as to what administration has added to that. Do the words "Department of Homeland Security" ring a bell? Republicans just rename taxes as soemthing else. For those who do benefit from lower taxes, they sure pay for it, along with everyone else by the loss of jobs, sales, etc. to say nothing of higher prices on gas, food, etc. It doesn't even out. The economy for everyday folks is in trouble.

House: yes.

Senate: no (but they'll gain seats).

And no - they won't try to impeach Bush. When the Republicans did that to Clinton, it actually increased his approval rating. I suspect the Democrats will learn the lesson of history and settle for stopping further concentration of power in the executive office.

I hope so, if nothing else to restore checks and balance to the system. As far as impeaching Bush, I am sure that there will be a investigation into his wrong doing in taking us to war based on a lie.

Well if you want higher wasteful taxes, bigger government etc... then it's good if the Dem's take back the House and the Senate.

Will be hard to even try to impeach Bush without a crime being proven to have been committed.

Did H.E.L.L. freeze over????
If they do try to impeach the president it will only be sour grapes, because Clinton disgraced the office & WAS impeached. They need to concentrate on their jobs & NOT revenge!!!!
