Sometimes I feel like throwing a glass or stabbing my husband with my fork at dinner. I worry i might hurt my dogs even though I love them dearly. I know these are things I don't want to do but what the hell are these impulses about!? Does anyone else get them?

If you answer yes, then say not people or animals, please explain! Remember Ally McBeal and all the fantasies she had about when people made her angry? It's like that. I don't want to hurt anyone, let me make it clear, it's an impulse.

Yes, only when I'm really angry or depressed. I have to remind myself of the consequences of my actions in order to stop myself. Thankfully I don't get into bad moods very often - but when I do - I know deep down that violence isn't going to make me feel better in the long run.

Absolutely. At times I've visualised killing those that have given me grief over the years - it's most satisfying. But of course if you ever act it out then jail being the consequence - it's just not worth it.
I'm saying this tongue in cheek. Having thoughts of aggression may be showing that you are not satisfied in some way in your life. Not trying to psycho-analyse you. Astrologically you could say your Mars is saying hello. I am quite an aggressive person and have learned to deal with my anger as best I can. Being physically active helps and doing something that satisfies my mind helps too.
But taking a baseball bat to an old TV or throwing old dinner plates onto the concrete paving feels really really good. It's okay to be 'bad' sometimes!

Yes, everyone has these impulses but few ever fulfill them, which is good.
I know what you feel. When you don't express your emotions in a way then you can let yourself go, then the stress will just grow and one day you will hurt someone.
Try going to a concealer, or wright a diary, or spend some time with a friend.

When someone does something that makes you angry, thinking about hurting them is completely normal. Everyone gets impulses to hurt back when they've been hurt. Its only if you dwell on these thoughts all the time, or have them when nothing has happened to make you angry that its abnormal.

I believe the best way to approach your question is to accept that the behaviors you describe arise from Anger. Acts of violence always stem from feelings of Anger whether you are aware of them or not. Hurting another, invariably causes you to face penalties that society imposes on an aggressor. The best way to deal with the feelings that you describe is to find a trained professional. This person can evaluate you for psychotherapy and medication if needed, before you act out on the feelings that you describe.

YES! i heard somewhere to throw an egg! just grab one out of the fridge, go into the backyard and LET IT FLY!! this lets out your frustration while not causing any harm (unless you hit someone or somthing with the egg -which is NOT recommended!) i've done it before when i wanted to beat the crap out of my sister and it really helped me! i hope it might help you too... i've also gone into my room, lay face down on the bed and scream as loud as i can into a pillow. sounds silly, but it helps too!! good luck! last resort: therapy.

You surely shouldn't enable your mom to blackmail you via making you sense responsible for no longer bowing to this ridiculous want. you will definately wreck your existence in case you do no longer hear on your very own ordinary sense. you're precise and your mom is merely incorrect inthis count number. you will desire to shop on with your weapons and stay sturdy on your very own judgements, by using fact i will see which you're extra clever than your mom (sorry to assert). pass away domicile and pass into your very own place if it extremely is achieveable, in any different case locate yet another venue to learn the place you at the instant are not continuously harrassed with this finished nonsense. perhaps you could learn contained in the library. tell your father and brother how your mom is pushing you to do something that doesn't sense precise to you. Get them on your factor. sturdy success!

Personally no I do not get them but you should go see a specialist or something (not to insult you) but you do not want to hurt the poor dogs. Also if your husband is causing these impulses talk to him about what he is doing...

Yes, but never animals or husbands. Sometimes visualizing it then letting it go works. Or kick the **** out of a punching back after visualizing.
It is one of the reasons I started taking karate and sparring. Legitimate a-s-s kickin
GREAT QUESTION

Of course! Especially when I am calling someone and I can't get through. I just want to slam my phone on the wall and break it into pieces. It's because I can't control my anger.
