This happened 12 and a half years ago and I was still fairly young back then so I do not know "all" of the details. This subject came up in my college law class and when the professor asked who thought OJ was innocent, about a quarter of the class raised their hands. I mean if OJ was not guilty of the crime, why did he run from the police? (the white bronco/ police chase down the freeway)I think my brother was watching the NBA finals knicks vs rockets at that time and this interrupted the game.
Anyway so yes, if he is innocent why did he run from the cops?
I believe one day OJ will write a book and the title will say
I DID IT AND GOT AWAY WITH IT.

no i do not think he's guilty because he's black. No way am I a racist. My best friend is half african american.
I think he's guilty because he ran from the police. Why would a innocent man run from the cops?

What does this have to do with higher education other than being posed in college? Shouldn't this be in the celebrity section or the law section? Just because you learned it in college doesn't mean it's *about* college.
As far as the innocence of OJ, he was proven not guilty in a criminal court of law - not found innocent. He was found guilty/liable in a civil court of law.
One of the problems with the case is that people either see it as a race issue (thank you Johnny Cochran), or are blinded by cop TV. If the suspect doesn't confess in the last 5 minutes of the show, or if there isn't a video tape of the actual crime taking place, they can't believe that he could have done it. And, some people are just plain stupid.

I don't know about the book, but I don't understand why people think he is innocent. That trial was the biggest travesty of justice ever. He should be burning in Hell now instead of running around free as a bird. I still can't believe the jury said "not guilty". I wonder if we will ever really know the truth??

Let's get one thing straight: O.J. Simpson was not "found innocent" -- he was found NOT GUILTY. There is a WORLD of difference. All "Not Guilty" says is, the prosecution didn't prove its case BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT. Now, what's a "reasonable doubt" is open to interpretation, and many of the jurors may very well have felt O.J. committed the crime; but their responsibility was not to determine whether THEY thought he did it, but whether the prosecution PROVED he did it.
And of course, let's not forget that, during the civil trial, O.J. WAS found "liable" (i.e.; responsible) for the deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman -- in that case, it was merely the preponderane of evidence that was important. As long as 51% of the evidence supported his liability and 49% was against it, the jury had the responsibility to rule against O.J.
And yeah, I do think that "stickin' it to The Man" and "Making Up for 400 Years of Slavery" and all that nonsense had a lot to do with it as well....

OJ was tried by a jury of his peers and was found innocent. For all intents and purposes, he IS innocent of this crime. Our system is flawed, but people went over the evidence and pronounced him not guilty. You'd have to ask the jury why he ran from the cops.

And then the so called rap artist? gets pissed when his cover on Rolling Stone got bumped. I HAVE BECOME ASHAMED TO TELL PEOPLE I AM AMERICAN due to the idiots like my own daughter who cannot exist w/out tech. I along w/ the world watched on regular tv and it brought us together in discussion.. OJ DID IT...Murder most evil because of the throat slices to basically tell her to STFU..

Some people think that the evidence against him was planted by racist cops. I don't believe that.
Some people love to look for conspiracies. Twenty percent of the people in Canada think that the 9/11 bombings in the US were part of a Bush led conspiracy to start a war with Iraq. While I don't think much of Bush -- I really don't think he is going to bomb his own people to start a war.

Nobody thinks he innocent for real. It is the idea of innocence and that a black man finally did what for so long rich white men have been doing.... paying for a "get out of jail free" card.

The prosecution was not able to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt because of the bungled investigation by the L.A.P.D.

Most of the people that believe he's innocent are blacks who were more interested in seeing a black man getting away with something because the victims were both white, and tried by white people (in their eyes).
I even heard it mentioned on a documentary - "Even if he did do it, he can serve as an example for all the wrongly convicted black men".
People really SAID that.
Remember the jurors? Which one said "If we would have voted guilty, our entire neighborhood would erupt in flames".
Can you believe this happens in the US? It sickens me.

Our system is flawed. What can I say.
There are many guilty people roaming the streets and many innocent people rotting in jail.
