Increase in human population isn't necessarily a bad thing. But the fact is, there are only so many resources. Land wise, though there is plenty now, if you look at how much open terrain there is away from big cities. Theoretically though, only so many people can fit on the earth and still have room to grow crops to provide enough food for everyone. And fossil fuels wills run out someday. Though we might have another way to make up for it by then, but it will happen and economically the world is based on many resources that can't be replenshed once they are gone.
With increase in population there is also an increase in diseases and the spread of.
One good thing about it is that the more people born, the people chances the world gets to have great minds and ideas.

If the entire population of the word were willing to stand next to each other, they would fit in Rhode Island. If each wanted a nice little house, they'd fit in Texas.
If it weren't for the energy each of us uses, (and Americans use the most per person of anyone in the world), the numbers wouldn't matter as much as they do. Many in the past have claimed the end of the world, so to speak, because of population growth, but improved technology has always come to the rescue, and many believe it will continue to do so.

It is bad because we take up too much room, use too many resources, produce pollution and toxins, alter habitats, and interfere with other organisms routinely.
Basically too many humans really mess up the Earth in several ways.
The only good or positive thing is that humans aren't going extinct anytime soon, unless there's a global disaster.

An increase in humanity means there's less resources per person-- you know, less food, fewer jobs. Also, since the poor, uneducated and less intelligent people do more reproduction, it means the gene pool is getting stupider-- just look at the questions and answers at "Yahoo!answers"-- it boggles the mind that so many stupid questions and answers can be found in one little website.

More people in any given region means fewer resources to go around. Unchecked population growth will eventually lead to the destruction of the ecosystem.

There is no good to it.
Human population is out of control. We strain the resources of our planet, pollute it, spread disease, and damage fragile ecosystems.
