George Bush has an exaggerated sense of war time powers of the Presidency. He is a Texas Politician, and in Texas to pass laws a constitutional amendment is necessary, approved by the voters, then law makers can write a bill. So the Texas Constitution is pretty useless piece of paper[actually hundreds of pounds of paper] so that he has a problem with constitutional law, and all laws in the framework of the constitution, [He has wanted to amend the constitution seven times] Hope this helps you understand Mr. Bush attitude better.

george bush is just crazy, i just want him out of office asap. Its not right to do anything that unconstitutional and if people are voting against it, its not legal. A president doesnt have the right to making a law himself and approving it just with him like that. He's president, but either way, it has to go through congress and the house and all sorts of things. I highly doubt a law is going to pass so they can tap into phone lines and things like that. Theres others things they can do for safety and security and not just labeling what someone is discussing through phone lines when they might not have full evidence that their a terrorist or whatever. The law wont pass if its unconstitutional, especially over george bush.

It is the job of the president to protect us from any threat both foriegn and domestic. So spying on the enemy is unconstitutional because.......
Its not unconstitutional at all. We have spied on folks many times in wars past. He is not spying on you unless your taking phone calls from al Qaeda. So what have you been chating about with them that you don't want me to know about?
I bet you have never read the constitution. As far as I can tell he has not broken any part of it yet. Just saying he has does not make it so.

What saddens me is that people view loyalty to a person or a party as more important than loyalty to a nation or a sense or personal morality.

Sure, I caught on real fast after September 11th.
The only way that you can convince people to give up their freedoms is if you convince them they are in grave danger. This method of fear mongering still works on about 40-45% of the American people...
Before 2001 --> Give me freedom or give me death
After 2001 --> Give me your freedoms or you'll die
And Mr. USMC spell checker above should learn the difference between "to" and "too"...
