Location of Service: You need to look in to your local and State laws for requirements on working out of your home and what if any license you may need to have.

Reiki Level One: You might want to consider gaining more experience first, working with others or through a service to gain the ground you need in continuing your education and becoming a reiki master.

Charging for Service: Aww the time honored question. The answer whatever the market will bare. First research and determine what everyone else in your area charges for reiki by level one practitioner. Then decide what you want to charge. After you start charging adjust your price up or down, as the market will allow, until you reach the price your intuition says is for you!

Blessed Be. Thank you for being of service!

Whether you can do reiki as a business out of your home depends on your city and state laws, as they govern what types of businesses can be done in homes and also if you will require any other types of certification or liscenses to be able to do alternative medicine or spiritual counseling.

Since you are only Level 1, it would be wise for you to only practice on yourself, other students from your level 1 class, friends and family. This way you will learn how you respond to Reiki and have a good understanding of how you work with Reiki, what signs you get when working on others and improve your channels to allow more energy to flow through for the clients.

When you are ready to start charging for sessions, the charge would be similar to what massage therapists charge for a session. It is similar work and similar market of people. Most places a 1 hour massage is $60 or more.

As you get more experienced and have more training - you may be able to charge more for a session, but as a Level 1, that really wouldn't be an honest representation of your skills.
