Antidepressants can take as long as 6 weeks to fully take effect. Give it more time, and express these concerns to your psychiatrist/therapist. If you don't have one, find one and talk with them.

First, be patient with yourself. You might make depression worsen because you have not taken time for YOU in the first place. Give your medicine about 2 weeks to work, unless it is REALLY unbearable, sometimes the medicines can actually make one feel a bit anxious in the beginning this usually goes away. If after 3 weeks you don't see improvement then make sure your doctor knows, but it sounds as if you are improving already! Awesome!

Lastly, do affirmations. If your mood is low in the morning, you can depend on you. Just like when the phone rings and it is a friend you have not heard from you get a rush, or when you find money, you experience a rush. You can create this good feeling with affirmations, begin each day with a few and carry them on a piece of paper in your pocket and repeat them, you will create new thinking patters, something medicine cannot do. Also, exercise in the morning, make yourself for atleast 10 minutes, circulation

This is ultimately up to you. I suggest Louis Hay, "Change your life".

I was a simpler dx with just major depression, but I do remember that just about ALL the antidepressants can take up to 6 weeks to fully kick in. Most usually start swinging within 4. I would definitely give it some more time. Best of luck!

Yes, I have had depression. I didn't realize I had depression at the time. When I started taking Lexapro It worked right away and I was amazed on how well it worked and its obvious when I miss a day.

Sure I have. Give your meds another couple of weeks to completely kick in. But meds don't cure depression, they only manage its symptoms. You need to address the root cause of the depression, which means examining your life, past and present. But, unfortunately, few people care to do this. I hope you do, because it's the only way through the stormy darkness into the light. Good luck.

Yes for years, it,s awfull. I take Celexa , but there is a product I,m thinking of trying. It,s called Theanine, if you Google that there is a whole list of natural products. Read up on them. Might be worth a shot.
Good Luck
