Your airline ticket might say. If not call the airline. This varies widely and depends on the carrier. The weight limit is usually around 20 kilos. It may go as high as 35 kilos and as low as 15. Overweight charges are a killer, so make sure you check before you fly. And save a little weight for the flight back so you can bring things you buy back with you!

You're allowed to take one hand luggage, max. 5kg, luggage perimeter 115 cm.
As far as the rest of luggage, weight varies depending on the flight (domestic or international) and the fare basis (economy, business etc.)

beware: if this is for international you are allowed to bring more luggage from the US than you are returning to the US.

I had the same carry on bag from the US on lufthansa, but when I checked in on my return (from a 3rd world country) my bag was not allowed in the cabin. There's no consistency so be sure to ask when you check in on the outbound to be sure.

It depends on the airline, route, and class of travel. Check you ticket and/or speak to the airline. Assume 5kg for carry on but hold luggage will be between 20kg and 32kg.

It varies, so best to check with your travel agent or carrier, although it might say on your documents. Things seem to be changing lately, so get it from the horse's mouth, to save possible problems at the airport.
