30000 Viruses! Your PC is now a Virus-Power House :)

It would be better to install a new Anti Virus. Its so obvious that your Anti Virus software is a crap! It wasn't able to detect them when they were secretly creeping into your system. So I suppose that its time to change your Anti virus software.

Which Anti Virus software? The best one that I personally feel is F-secure. I had tried out Norton, McAfee, Pc-Cillin. But the best that I'm using now is F-secure Internet Security Suite 2006.
F-secure first tries to heal the affected files, then if not success-full it throws those files into the quarantine folder.

Please don't open any application on your PC, because that may start the virus! if that application is infected.

First of all start up your system and remove/uninstall your old Anti Virus software(if any). Then install the new Anti virus Software. Reboot the system and run the Anti virus. Hopefully those 30000! would be gone!

Please use best Anti Virus Softwares.

*Please relist if the problem persists.*

Even with a Virus Scan, All viruses may not be cleaned, nor deleted. Quarantining does not always work either.

You have no doubt been downloading and/or receiving communications that are loaded with viruses.

It does not appear from your question, that you even have virus protection.

The only thing that you can do at this time is for reformat your hard drive, where all those viruses are stored.

Sometimes you can send your hard drive into the past by using "System Restore" But it all depends upon the origin date of the viruses.

When you ask a question about a computer, please remember that all computers are not alike and the manufacturers may or may not have a set of restoration discs that come with the computer.

I recently had to format my hard drive, but I have a Hewlitt Packard and it comes with three discs that contain all the information that was installed originally, and that is why I am able to continue.

There is no simple way to cure your trouble. I take note that Yahoo, scans all incoming and outgoing messages and attachments.

I am wondering how you were able to amass such a large number of viruses. There is something that needs more explanation from you. What have you been doing with your computer. If you have been visiting websites, you could be picking up problems that way.

Also run Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware (both free). Also, you can go to McAfee and Norton's website and run free online virus scans. A lot of times lower quality virus scanners will give you false positives in an effort to get you to upgrade to a more expensive program. However, if you have never ran a virus scan before, downloaded a bunch of stuff from the internet, then it is possible that you could have that many viruses. I would be surprised, since if that were the case, I doubt your computer would even run. :-)

Good luck!

What virus scanner are you using?? It might be giving false positives. Try running an online scan with HouseCall:

well.. scan your computer in the safe mode, and also turn off system restore when you scan your pc so that way the virus doesn't repeat its self in your files.
