While sitting there on the couch last night I heard him again! Same as before, right outside my back door. As I jumped up and ran to the door I thought "this time I'm gonna get him!". Sure enough, when I whipped open the back door, there he was! As I sprinted out the door in pursuit, he ran off across the patio. When I suddenly realized I had no shoes on, and he might get away, I grabbed the closest thing I could get my hands on, and nailed him with a patio chair. Dead cricket!

But oh God, that felt good! I feel victorious!

Will I rot in Hell for that?

No, you won't rot in hell, but I don't believe in a hell in the first place because I think we make our hells here on Earth. I suspect your hell is the sound of a cricket and as such, you may be hunting them down in your stocking feet the rest of your life unless you learn to accept them, perhaps even to enjoy them, or at the least, tune them out.

It is proven that a human being cannot think of two things at once. If you are more focused on a book or something, you might be able to forget the sound.

Acceptance is the easiest thing. I love to hear them because it means the weather is still warm. Now what I have yet to get over is the sound of squirrels mating! Now if you want to be irritated, that is the most awful sound!

Check to see if you have ADD or ADHD because in that case it is difficult to focus once a repetitive sound is made.

Don't worry, you'll still have a good after-life.

Peace.

I think that cricket was trying to tell you something. And now you'll never know what it was.......No you wont go to hell, there is no hell. There mustn't be many good things in your life though if slaying a cricket makes you feel victorious. Why couldn't you pursue him without your shoes on by the way? Do you catch a cold easily?

This is great! Awesome writing!

My grandparents thought it was 'bad luck' to kill a cricket in the house. But you were outside on the patio, right? So, all's good.

Since hell does not exist, you will not rot there.
A pity, because the sort of person who could kill a living creature and claim 'it felt good' would be a candidate for hell in my book.

You're question is the first one in a while to keep me entertained. Bravo!

Oh, and if you go to hell, yours will include being walked over by billions of crickets. Eew.

Once, when I was home alone, I saw what appeared to be some sort of roach-like bug staring up at me from my bedroom floor. I grabbed my Webster's dictionary, threw it at the accused, and an immediate "bbbbrrreeet" followed. I don't think it was a roach.
