I like songs that has good lyrics that you enjoy hearing and good arrangement of instrument. Right now, I'm digging Queen as I am quite a new fan of Rock genre. Any band or rockers from the 80s until now, preferably in this decade.

If you like unusual and awesome guitar, check out Rage Against the Machine or Audioslave. Tom Morello is the lead guitarist for both groups (RATM has been broken up 4 a while). He can make the most amazing sounds out of that guitar!

Try:
Led Zeppelin... any of the first four albums but to my mind LED ZEP IV is the best.
Jethro Tull.... a rock flute would you believe it!!! Mr Anderson plays like the devil, all the albums are good but the compilation "original masters" is the best place to start.
David bowie produced some amazing material between 1973 and 1979, Start with Ziggy Stardust and then proceed to Hero's.
It may be a bit on the hip side but the "Blue Oyster Cult" is a great band... Don't Fear The Reaper being one of the best anthems of prog rock.
that should keep you going for a few months!

listen to anything by Nine Inch Nails. Trent is a Music genius. you will hear synthesizer, bass, guitar, drums, lots of piano. its just heavenly to listen to cause he has his very own style. and dont think that because he plays that song "closer (I wanna **** you like an animal), that all his music is heavy and vulgar. he actually has an album "still" which is all acoustic piano.
I reccomend that you check out his newest album "with teeth"
