prolonging the end

This is merely a case of the glass being half full or half empty. No one ever argues that the glass still has juice in it. The point is that it's a matter of perspective whether life is being prolonged or death delayed because it is the same thing. Which choice of words you pick is totally up to your state of mind.

First one must agree that death begins with life. I do not agree with this. However, for argument's sake, if I did believe this then I'd also believe that doctors extend life and delay (not prolong) death.

EXTENDING LIFE, BECAUSE DEATH TAKES ONLY A FEW SECONDS, YOUR HEART STOPPING AND ALL, SO YOUR BODY BEGINS TO AGE AT BIRTH NOT TO DIE!!!!!!

Good question! I say extending life, but many would disagree. I think one's outlook on life in general would bias their answer. It makes it "nicer" to think we are extending rather than prolonging, don't you think?
