A cotton/fiber plug put into your vagina to soak up the discharge. It has a string so you can pull it out (and throw it away, not wash and reuse it).

BTW, the spelling is "tampon."

A tampoon is kinda like a Lampoon vacation, see, but you need to go to Florida.
