I am on birth control (Nuva Ring) but no other medications. I think this started out with stress, but that really isn't a problem anymore.

A low sex drive is mainly caused by a lack of testosterone in the body. Not only males do produce this hormone; female persons do as well, but in much smaller amounts than men. This explains why men think more about sex than women.

However, when increasing testosterone, female members should always be careful. There must be a balance in estrogen and testosterone.

I advise you follow some sports. This is known to increase your sex drive (increases testosterone). Follow a cardiac program with running and cycling and workout with light weights. Consuming sufficient vitamins can also aid in increasing testosterone, hence increasing your female potence. Try to avoid stress and have sufficient sleep. All these (see above) increase testosterone and will increase your potence and sex drive. Consuming some soy can also be healthy, it is known to increase estrogen, hence increasing fertility in women. This should balance your hormone levels.

Having a good hormonal balance is most important in women. Did you know you can slow down your menopause by just consuming a healthy amount of soy?

I'm not familiar with any books especially targeted at helping one build up her sex drive. However, there is one called A Celebration of Sex by Dr. Douglas E. Rosenau which lists many ideas for enhancing your pleasure in sex. That may help. I'm sure there are other books that would give tips to a woman on building up her sex drive. Another book called The Christian Woman's Guide to Sexuality by Debra Evans also contains many good suggestions.

Also, are you on any medications? I had the problem of no sex drive at 29, and after talking to my doctor, I discovered that my medication was causing this. He cut my dose in half, and I've had no problem since then.

I am 25 too. I was having the same problem. The GYN took me off the pill. I don't know if you're on the, but it worked like a charm. She said that they are starting to do tests on young women that have been on the pill since they were teenagers. Apparently, since the pill prohibits hormone changes, your body can't regulate properly. So when your hormones try to change with age they can't creating loss of sex drive, mood swings, or just being melancholy.
With that said....It sucks not being on pill, but I've managed.

Ann Rice wrote a slinky series under another name! Dang I can't remember. Sex books are good for a laugh, but hers was, well, nice! I saw a commercial that KY (jelly) has come out w/a new product that warms on touch; try massage. Do you get any time to youself? My biggest sexual hangup is when I don't have time to simply "relax"!

There has to be a reason. Are you on anti-depressants? That can do it. If you aren't on any medications, it's isn't normal for a 25 year old to have no sex drive. You should visit your doctor to make sure you don't have something going on down there. If you still have no drive, you should seek counseling--just you.

I have that problem too. I have found that doing kegels help some, and also doing some sort of excersise daily even just 10 minutes has helped some. My problem is due to stress. Find something that you like to do for YOU,
