I remember watching a vampire movie in the mid-90s. The vampires were kind of the good guys and blended in with normal society. The main character was trying to stop a war which occurred between a load of "evil" christians and the vampires, and I remember a load of stake-wielding Christians in pickup trucks and vans showed up towards the end of the film. It may have been made for TV.

Films it definitely isn't: Nightbreed, Near Dark, Innocent Blood

I watched it on TV in 1994, so not The Breed (2001). Also not JC's Vampires, Blade or The Lost Boys.

I seem to remember the main actor looked a bit like Gabriel Byrne but it wasn't him. Was quite low-budget.

Valli - the blonde woman thing is a possibility. The main thing I remember was that they were trying to break the tradition of pointless war between the christians and the vampires.

Finally, I've found which one it was. Has a lower rating than I expected so maybe not as good as I remember. I'll leave it open and drop some hints.

Hint 1: The vampires were known as something else rather than vampires, had no fangs and could go out in the daytime. The underlying theme was about racism.

Did the vampires pick up a blonde woman and attack her but she did not die. They told her the truth and that she would become a vampire too and I think they left her in a hotel but then went back for her. I'm not thinking of interview with the vampire.

"The Breed" is just about the worst vampire movie ever made. Your memory of it is spotty at best. No one should waste even a dollar on this loser.

I enjoy a good vampire movie.

From Dusk till Dawn ......that one had Quentin Taratino (sorry don't know the correct spelling) in it.....
they also made a sequel to it with Daniel Baldwin

OR-

It could have been the remake of Salems' Lot , but It sounds more like From Dusk till Dawn....I haven't seen the movie in years sorry I couldn't be more of a Help....
