I know the answer to this question is "I always choose the one i haven't tried before".. but why is this the correct answer?

Please help me figure it

There is no such thing as the lessor of two evils. Also if you have a choice of which evils to do then there is a way not to do any evil at all. So try going in that direction.....

I was taught a long time ago that sometimes there is no correct decision to make, that the only decision to make is the wrong decision. Therefore, for you to choose the one that you have not tried before is not entirely out of line. If you must make a decision and you know that you are in a no-win situation, you really have nothing to lose by experimenting. This is not a general rule, though, as you must judge the situation. The new territory offered might actually be less desirable than the old.
