We went to Iraq to finish the business Bush's father started.

What's troublesome about this is threefold.

1- We get attacked on 9-11 and all we really do is attack an unrelated country, very expensively I might add.

2-Republicans and other Bush supporters bury their head in the sand on fact #1

3-Since Bush has ADMITTED the pre-emtive strike was based on false intelligence, he has no plan but to stay the course, which even some Republicans will acknowledge it still means no plan.

It's sad the way that a war and an Administration can be fraught with so many disasters and examples of poor planning, and all the
conservative establishment in this country can do is go on an all out campaign to blame anyone who criticizes it.

Like calling Democrats in cahoots with the Jihadists. It's too insane, and the liberal bashing exaccerbates Bush bashing.

No one wins that way.

9/11 is not the reason we are in Iraq.
Iraq was an ongoing dispute with the USA and the UN.
The Iraq war happened because Saddam decided not to cooperate with UN inspections, therefore suspisions of WMDs started to arise.
9/11 just happened in the middle of it.
Some speculate that maybe Saddam supported Osama as a way to fight the USA...only speculation but nevertheless possible.
