Voracious is a very good word in common use.

We hear of persons who are voracious readers.

Voracious: (adjective) has two meanings.

1. Eating or craving food in large quantities.

(Ravenous, Gluttonous, greedy, insatiable, devouring)

Eg: A voracious Eater,; have a voracious appetite

2. The word is more known for its second meaning

Extremely Eager in some respect.; Wanting a lot of new information & knowledge.
