...they are a size 10, stretch 'favorite' style. If the jeans are stretch, do they run a bit bigger? Will non-stretch jeans that are a size 10 also fit basically the same way?

From my experience, stretch jeans will run just a little bit bigger. They are just more comfortable, because when you sit down, they stretch. With non-stretch jeans, you dont have that give.
Usually when you wash them, they wont "stretch out" and sag as much like regular jeans do. But you have to plan that they may shrink a little, especially in the length (about 1/2 and inch)

No,,, size 10 stretch jeans are not the same.
That means you probably wear size 14 in non- stretch jeans.

I adore AE's jeans. They're super comfortable.

However, with their stretch line, I've noticed that after three hours or so of wearing them, they start to sag way too much. They do stretch out a LOT, so beware of that. Make sure to always wear a belt with 'em, aha.

You could try on a size smaller, next time you go to AE. If the size 8 is beyond uncomfortable, don't bother with them. If they're slightly snug, you could buy them and try them out. Wear them around the house for a few hours, and see if they stretch out to a comfortable size. In all likelihood, they will.
