No they're not. However, they have realized that there are other ways to win the election than stand for all of Bush's policies. For example, my Congressman, Mike Ferguson, in the 13th District in New Jersey, is known to most to be a lap boy of Bush. However, his current campaign materials don't focus on his relationship to Bush. They focus on the person he's running against, Linda Stender, who Ferguson has billed, "Stender the Spender." So, are Republicans relying on Bush the way they did in past elections? No. But are they distancing themselves from him? No. They're just responding to some of the Bush Burn that voters are feeling right now.

it wouldnt be the first time they did remmember before 9-11 the not only were distancing themselfs they were out right withdrawing from the party so its no surprise to see the backstepping triing to put a little distance before the investigations that are going to be starting soon and there is no coincedince in his seeking annanimity from prosecution .

good luck george

I'm not. Of course, I'm not running for office, either. Santorum isn't, but I don't follow much of the other stuff.
