OK...I know...it sounds weird. But lately, I have counted the boxes to ensure compliance with the supposed 5,000 staples in the standard Bostich box. I have found the following...

4,992
4,833
5,027

Do I need therapy? Does anyone else feel this compulsion?

It definitly all depends on how long it took to count them all. Have you alerted Bostich about the problem? They might hire you. I only think that therapy is in order if you neglected to:

A) Take a shower.
B) Go to work.
C) Miss a meal.

If you did any of the following, yea, I think talking someone is in order. If you only counted them during your free time, after work, on weekends..so what...is it any different than mindlessly surfing?

No. but I believe you with the discrepancies. Once when I was small I counted the puzzle pieces to make sure there was 100 as printed on the box. 98. I think they use some kind of machine to just average it out but the chances of it actually being the number they claim is few.

Yes, you may need therapy, and no, I haven't ever felt this compulsion. I just have one question for you...These three different results you have found, is that all from the same box?!?!

Heck no. You have a bright future as a Business Manager. In fact, I know of a somewhat-major-anonymous University located 45 miles west of Detroit in an anonymous state looking for people just like you. You have proof that your organization was ripped off by approx. .000035 cents and it only cost $400 in personnel time to do it.

Right On!

Good job dude! Not compulsive at all. Measure a roll of toilet paper for us and let us know if we are taking it in the *** there too. I would do it butt I'm just too busy right now.

obviously if you are counting staples you have to much time on your hands and need to find a good hobby to occupy your time i would say maybe go to a good movie or read a good book go for a long bike ride or any thing else like that
