Also, as I peer into my crystal ball, practical nano manufacturing will depend on perfecting nano self assembly methods. Biological organisms such as plants already assemble themselves from molecular components using photosynthesis as the primary power source. Deep understanding of this process on the nano scale would probably be darned helpful in practical nano-manufacturing techniques.

Think about it . At the basic level plants turn sunlight into energy. The world needs energy to replace fossil fuels. maybe studying plants and photosynthesis could lead to discoveries to help problems facing humanity.
