what type of alcohol. assuming it's secondary swern, jones, permanganate can oxidixe it to an aldehyde.

just look up named reactions and you'll find what you're looking for

i am not sure but i think you can use acidified potassium dichromate(acid is sulphuric acid),alkaline potassium permaganate(base is potassium hydroxide),dilute nitric acid.
but you have to control the reaction or else it would result in acid
