I’m going to be running in the Disneyland ½ Marathon (13.1 miles) this Sunday in Anaheim, CA. I ran a full marathon (26.2 miles) in San Diego about 4 years ago but haven’t trained much since then. This past Monday, I ran 5.3 miles in 1:07… (which, really sucks) and I seem to lose my steam after that.

Who ever comes closest to my actual finish time…. 10 Points.

Wish me luck!

Oh... And, I only have 3:30 to finish it.

5.3 miles and losing your steam . . . full marathon 4 years ago. . . you can probably make it 2 hours 50 minutes. Good luck and don't drop out !!! Just have fun, walk if you need to. You can do it under 3 hours.

If you ran at the speed you ran on Monday, it would take you 2 hours and 46 minutes, and I know you say you run out of steam BUT I think you will surprise yourself.

If you were able to run for 5.3 miles with virtually no training, you are obviously fitter than you think.

Adrenaline, a touch of healthy competitiveness, and the support of the crowds and other runners will make you stronger and faster. I think you will do it in 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Whatever your time is, it will be fun, and it will feel like an achievement.

Good luck
