It is in fact back to front, the reason you cannot see that is because of the symetrical value,Take a square for instance when in front of a mirror it is appears that the square is the same because it is symetrical.

Our faces are back to front in the mirror - but it is the only way that we usually see ourselves. It is probably one of the real reasons why we look at a photograph of our self and decide that it doesn't look right!
Just for fun, get a piece of paper and put it on the desk/table. Put a mirror ahead at a 90 degree angle (or about where your PC monitor is). Cover the paper so that you can use a pen but you can't see the paper (a height of about eight or ten inches should do it). Then, by only looking in the mirror, write your name or a phrase that you know well - it is really amazing! It totally confuses the senses!
That will teach you a lot about mirror images and how we cope with them!

You must realize that the image that you see is of two dimensions only creating the illusion of three dimensions. No light from back of your head is reaching the mirror so you cannot see that. Instead of looking into the mirror look at the image of your photograph. The image will look as the photograph looks from opposite face. So it is the same back to front whether latter or the front part of your face.

They actually are (though it doesn't seem so because of the symmetry of our faces). Weird as it may seem, the image that you see is not how people see you.

Try doing a "double mirror" reflection--hold a mirror up to the mirror and look at yourself in the second reflection. That's what people see. It's a little disconcerting.

If you don't have some kind of birthmark on one side of your face, try drawing a dot on your right cheek. If it looks like it's on your left cheek in the mirror, then the mirror reverses your face. Otherwise, I'd like to know where you got your mirror.

Your face is back to front, but since you cannot see your face the right way round directly (only in a photograph), it is not apparent that it is back to front.
