Hamleys is pretty big as they have a number of shops across Britain however FAO Schwartz is probably the biggest in America! I prefer Hamleys as it is British and the toys are amazing!

Toys R Us is the biggest in the number of stores in the US and perhaps around the world. FAO Schwartz is the biggest in size of each store (There used to be an FAO Schwartz in Orlando's International Drive, but they closed it down).

I've been lucky enough to have been to all three.
FOA Schwartz was big, but I did find that most of it was 'empty spaces' rather than packed with goods.
Hamleys (London) is massive, but a lot of it was taken up with the stairwell in the middle.
Has to be Toys R US in NY - IT WAS MASSIVE, well laid out and packed withs toys.
(Unless of course you want to include Santas grotto, North Pole, just before the toys are sent out)
Not sure if it was the biggest in the world though. I would guess Toys R us hold that record, but I am not sure where it would be.

Toys "r" Us in Times Square NYC is the biggest in the world and well worth a visit for adults and children......

The Toy's R Us in Times Square is the biggest in the world. It is 110,000 square feet and it houses a ferris wheel. I have been there numerous times and it is so fun.
