Case In Point: Dr. Paul Mckenna earned his Ph.D. from Lasalle University: "Dr. Paul Mckenna filed defamation / libel case against MGM Ltd. (Lewis-Smith & Morgan, The Mirror) and won the case". This case is very important to all Lasalle University PhD graduates; the degrees earned was tarnished forever, by many who maliciously, and who has very minimal understaing or NO idea at all,on how Lasalle works on the process of "prior learning exemption practices". For your reference, CASE No. HQ04X03313 Royal Courts of Justice, Strand, London dated 28/7/06 before the Hon. Mr. Justice Eady. This is the time to vindicate: suggest to all PhD's who graduated from Lasalle University, Mandeville, LA to join forces ready to file libel case against those who offended, insulted, and published in the internet defammatory insinuations. Suggest to consult good lawyers and start our research on and for the case. The statement, Lasalle University a diploma mill, non-accredited is all over the Internet.

You should never (as in, NEVER!!!!) have anything whatsoever to do with any college that is not regionally accredited.

You don't have to get complicated in trying to work this out. All you have to do is check the website of a couple respected schools in the neighborhood -- (say, in the Lousisiana area that would be schools like Tulane, Lousiana State or University of Mississippi) on their websites and in their catalogs they say that they are "regionally accredited."

Like, if you go to Tulane's website it says right on the front page:

"Tulane University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097; Telephone number 404-679-4501) to award bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. "

OK, any other school in the Louisiana area, if you are thinking of going there, don't send them one penny until you know that they are accredited by the same group that accredits Tulane and these other respectable schools.

Be careful - there is a LaSalle University in Chicago, IL, which is a perfectly respectable, accredited university. There is no connection to the Louisiana school, which made a number of false claims. The school in Chicago does not, however, offer Ph.D.s at all. The only doctorate they offer is a Psy.D. Apparently the school you are talking about, in Louisiana, was closed down quite a while ago. It was determined to be a diploma mill.

I think if you're applying for a graduate/professional program (i.e. I'm working on my Ph.d and my fiance is in law school) you have to take the responsibility to make sure that your school is accrediated. There ARE schools that are not properly and lawfully accrediated and so when those persons who get a degree from those schools will be disadvantaged when compared with someone from a credible school.

Maybe next time when you write a case brief you should simplify the case into different catagories for easier and efficient reading.
