Depends if it is on the quarter system or semester system and the unit value of the course/s you take. I graduated from a college that was on the semester system and was required to complete around 125 or so units. Most classes were 3 units, but some were 2 or 1 unit depending on the difficulty and the amount of work required.

I have just graduated with a joint honours degree. LLB Law with business. We did 120 credits per year split into 10 and 20 credit units and the option to do either a 20 or 40 credit dissertation in the final year. There was also the option to take a language unit if you wanted to. You needed 360 credits to graduate with honours.
Be careful how much work you take on, it is possible to overdo it.
Good luck.

I am taking 13.5 credits this semester and at my college we have to take 12 a semester to be a full time student, and anything under that is a part time student.
And by the way, that is 6 classes, but 2 of them are easy courses that only meet once or twice a week =) Basically easy A's!

It depends if your getting financial aid to pay for your classes or not. If you are paying out of pocket then most University's will allow you to take as many as you want as long as you can handle them. However, don't over load yourself and get stuck not doing so well in your classes!

you can only take one course, but most universities offer courses in more than one subject, known as a joint honours degree... eg. history and politics, there are also courses where you can take modules in a range of subjects, I think its called general studies or something like that.
