Humanism is a broad category of active ethical philosophies that affirm the dignity and worth of all people, based on the ability to determine right and wrong by appeal to universal human qualities—particularly rationalism. Humanism is a component of a variety of more specific philosophical systems, and is also incorporated into some religious schools of thought.
Humanism entails a commitment to the search for truth and morality through human means in support of human interests. In focusing on the capacity for self-determination, Humanism rejects transcendental justifications, such as a dependence on faith, the supernatural, or divinely revealed texts. Humanists endorse universal morality based on the commonality of human nature, suggesting that solutions to our social and cultural problems cannot be parochial.

Humanism is the belief in all things HUMAN....not spiritual. Humanism is closely related to Karl Marx in that he rejected God and put all his faith in humanity to help itself.
Do not confuse Humanism with Humanitarianism (which is philantropy).
I consider myself a Humanist in that I believe everything we have on this planet has been created, tested, and marketed by human beings....not God. I think even the Bible is a complete human creation.
We humans are capable of many things if we throw off the harness of religion which inhibits and deadens our creativity.

Chiron: The wounded healer; Truth is were all wounded humans.Choice is what to do with our wounds. Will we chose to wound others with our wound, or heal others with the knowledge. I chose to heal, but I'm only human too, so why is it we sometimes wound the ones we love? How do we move past this to heal our communities?
