i think you have that the other way around boo. why do whites go to tanning salons to be dark like blacks? and who cares who tries to be like who. the world has more to be concerned about than who is trying to copy someone else. How about wondering about increase school tuition, the US minimum wage amount, crime in poverty stricken communities, honorable killings, and wars. furthermore dont white chicks use weave and hair extensions? Aren't more whites locking their hair? I think you all are the main ones getting butt implants, breasts implants, and botox to look more full and voluptuous like a black woman naturally is. Come on girl get a life. All races are beautiful.

I think it's stupid they do that because they shouldn't care what ppl think they should care bout how they think bout themselves I don't care what ppl think I just care that I know some times when they talk "stuff" bout you that you should ignore it there probably jealous or they just love to hate.They don't act like white girls they HAVE TO straighten there hair because they get there hair all frizzy and that's a girls worst nightmare!

I thought they did these things because the wanted to be fashionable...next week the Afro Hairdo might be back .. then all the white girls will be copying that..does that mean they want to be black?

I have noticed this too. The only answer is that some black women must think these things make them more attractive. 90% (a close approximation) of black women chemically straighten their hair (or wear wigs or weaves) with the hair texture of women of other races. In addition, the celebrities that are considered representations of black women in the media are half-white (Halle Berry, Alicia Keys, Christina Milian, etc.), and there are hardly any unmixed looking black women represented (the one I can think of is Roshumba). About white women wanting to look black (that was asked in one of the answers previously) with tanning, and fat injections. I would agree with you if white women were tanning to acquire the complexion of black women (even though tanning is a natural reaction to the suns rays and not a reaction to chemicals like bleach creams), however tanning results in a golden tint, hence the phrase "golden tan" which is the color that is most desired and is not even close to the color of black skin (which whites could never gentically achieve anyway). Furthermore, very few white women get fat injections (probably .01% at the highest), not any indication of white women wanting to look black and certainly not close to 90% (as the rate is with black women straightening their hair to acquire the hair texture of other races). Finally, the women that are held up as the most attractive by whites are not nearly mixed race and are usually as "white" as possible with blond hair and blue eyes (Anna Kournikova, Maria Sharapova, Charlize Theron, etc.)

i guess you can ask the same question of any race....why do we go out of our way to look like anyone......
i personally don't perm my hair, but i think it's a fashion statement....black girls who perm their hair don't look white to me.....Oh and do all white girls have straight hair.......i don't think so.
