Does it feel hard and solid, or squishy and liquid filled? A hard bulge would be a tumor, a soft squishy one is most likely a cyst or even a hematoma (blood leaking under the skin)

Hematomas should disappear in a few days. Sebaceous cysts will go away on their own after a couple of weeks, some other cysts won't ever disappear, but they aren't fatal.... tumors, unfortunately are almost always fatal.

You can have a vet look at it, but it would be very costly to have a biopsy done on an animal so small. If it seems cancerous and you can afford to spend the money on her you can have the thing removed.... I had a mammary tumor removed from my rat when she was two years old and she lived another year afterward. (my mom worked for a vet and they did the surgery for the cost of the anesthesia)

I say just keep her comfortable, cuddle her tons and if she seems like she's feeling ok don't worry about it.... she will at least pass on as a happy girl.

If she seems like she's in pain, call your vet and see if there are any meds you can give her to ease her pain.

Yep, that feels like a tumor. that is fairly uncomplicated, unquestionably, nevertheless few hamsters stay a protracted life with one. Taking her to the vet will do no solid, they are going to in hassle-free terms positioned her to sleep. She's a hamster, there is not plenty they are in a position to do. The vet in hassle-free terms has kit made for.. typical sized animals. maximum persons do not care sufficient a pair of hamster to take it to the vet, so they don't make micro-kit for working in small areas like that. There might additionally be an anesthesia challenge. I used to have 2 hamsters that had tumors. one in all them died after living with it for 3 weeks (even nevertheless she became previous for a Russian Dwarf, 3 years.) and the different one lived till he became 5. the single that lived till he became 5, Cookie, had the tumors for 2 years, and that i've got faith it became previous age that killed him, not the tumor itself. If she looks in discomfort or not eating, that's terrific to place her down. i will describe the technique (by way of e mail! that is form of.. not G-rated) to place her out of her distress, yet while she seems to be high quality, then i might merely enable her stay out the the remainder of her life in peace. make sure she's mushy, use a paper-based bedding, purchase solid nutrition, replace the water daily, and she or he ought to stay it out.

it could be a tumor or an abcess, but it could also be an impacted cheek pouch. their cheek pouch goes back far and is close to that front leg. sometimes the cheek problem can even cause their eye to close. they all require vet treatment. is he eating/drinking ok? if not i would get him to vet right away rather than waiting.

early diagnosis increases the chances of success of surgical removal if it is a tumor.

unfortunately hamsters are very prone to tumors, and they are almost always fatal. Take you little one to the vet to make sure, then keep an eye on her - when she stops eating, or acts like she's in pain, please love her enough to let her go - don''t let her linger because you're not ready to lose her.
