The good news is that you can learn control. The bad news is that it may take a while.
Suggestions regarding focussing your mind on something contrary to sexual arousal works, but a word of caution; you wife might wonder "where you are". Many women are quite sensitive to whether a man "is with them" emotionally or not.
Masturbating before hand can work, but again there is a possibility of "issues"; talk to your wife about it first.
Finally, there is technique. When you feel your orgasm building, stop, even withdraw if necessary. If your orgasm still continues to build, press firmly on the bottom of your penis, near its base; this will prevent ejaculate from escaping. You could also consider wearing a ****-ring, but do not keep it on for longer than 20 minutes; your equipment will start missing the blood flow otherwise.
Over time, your control will develop. Understand, this is almost always a matter of the mind, NOT physical. If you do have a physical issue, then a different approach would be required. But most of the time this is psychological. Your mind is the most important sexual organ, believe it or not, and this exercise is about retraining your mind's response to sexual stimulus; physical and emotional.
A final word; As I said, this will take time to learn. In the meanwhile, consider focusing on your wife's pleasure first. A good long massage will relax you both, and most women I've known can get very aroused by intimate massage, and I'm not talking about overtly sexual activity here. Just the both of you naked, comfortable temperature in the room, etc. Start on her back and neck, work down to her buttocks, legs, and don't forget her feet (unless she's ticklish). This should take you at least 10 or 15 minutes. This is a gentle massage. You aren't digging deeply into her muscles, but you want more than butterfly stroking. Once again, talk to her, and observer her responses. Turn her over and repeat. Include her breasts along the way, but leave "the treasure" alone for now.
Perhaps follow this with oral stimulation; again, this depends on your wife's preferences. I don't know anything about her, so unfortunately I must generalize. I knew a woman who could orgasm from stimulation of her breasts and nipples only, and I've known women who find this irritating, or at best are indifferent.
And you know, you need not "practice" your control every time you make love. If you follow the above and see to your wife's needs first, well, again this is a generalization, but after a long massage, excellent clitoral stimulation, and one or so orgasms, a lot of women are so aroused at this stage that 5 minutes from you can easily bring them to orgasm again. Many women are very turned on by the very fact of being ejaculated into when highly aroused.
So:
1. See to your wife's needs.
2. Practice your control.
3. Talk to your wife about all of this. She's the best person to tell you what she wants. And pay attention to what she says.

If you've ever been disillusioned into thinking that there's nothing you can do to prevent premature ejaculation and that it's just something "you're born with" or "can't do anything about" then hopefully this will change your mind and inspire you https://tr.im/cAivQ
Because the truth is that there are many ways to prevent premature ejaculation, and being able to last longer in bed is something that lies within your control.

Broaden your views of sex, amigo.
There is a whole world of pleasure for both of you that you simply don't know about. Do some research, plenty of very good sites on the Internet. Google "clitoris" for your first step.
And discuss your sex life candidly with your wife. Offer her "one conversation for one hour" -- I think that's fair. It's embarrassing admitting you don't know it all because you need to be the King in the bedroom. Don't be a wimp about it, be aggressive about it and talk to her. Demand better sex from both of you!
Go get 'em, tiger!

My husband will climax during lovemaking and then we'll fool around and he'll take care of me to work himself up again so that he lasts longer the second or third time around!

I would suggest either taking care of yourself a bit earlier, before the games begin. Or, assume round one will be quick.....and devote round two to pleasing her.

Think of something else, go slow and breathe deeply. As above - lots of foreplay first.
