Dog The Bounty Hunter star Duane "Dog" Chapman and two of his cohorts were arrested early Thursday in Hawaii, PEOPLE has confirmed.
Chapman, 53, his son Leland, 29, and Timothy Chapman (no relation), 41, were captured on charges of illegal detention and conspiracy stemming from their 2003 capture of Max Factor cosmetics heir Andrew Luster in Mexico.
Chapman and his team won fame – and an A&E reality show – after they caught Luster, a fugitive convicted of raping three women, in Puerto Vallarta. But they were arrested for not turning Luster over to Mexican police, and then skipped bail, U.S. Marshals Service spokesperson Nikki Credic said.

Apparently, bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico, so when he apprehended Andrew Luster (the Max Factor heir serial rapist) there a few years back, Mexico busted him. He paid his bail, but left the country, so I guess that is the problem. He still needs to face charges there and they want the USA to extradite him. If I was in charge I'd say no extradition until Mexicao agrees to extradite all the crimanals that have fled to their country!! What a joke, seriously. He apprehended a serial rapist, for Christ's sake! Mexico should be thanking Mr. Dog.

He went to arrest Andrew Luster in Mexico way back in 2003 and he did. So, when he returned in US.A. in Honolulu in 6 a.m. he got arrested from some stupid mexican cops! Becuz by law in Mexico bounty hunters are not allowed and by this freakin' law he could not arrest anyone. So he got arrested becuz he arrested someone else in another country apperantly Mexico where there BOUNTY HUNTER are not allowed. Get it?
And he didn't steal anything form that guy or his stupid factory!
I think its totally not fair! Becuz that's his job and its legal in America!
Mexican law is so stupid by far. I think that somebody paid to arrest him becuz they were just mad.

I doubt he will ever be lower back on A&E considering the fact that they made certainly one of those enormous deal approximately canines's racist remark concerning his son's fiance or spouse who's black. The son recorded the communication and acquired the story to a tabloid that went public with it. A&E cancelled the practice almost immediately after that.

Dog and his son and tim were arrested on illegal detention and conspiracy related to the capture in 2003 of Andrew Luster. And then he skipped out and dog and his crew found him and arrested him, and the mexican authorities didnt like that. Dog wouldnt turn over Luster to the mexican authorities, so they were arrested for deprivation of liberty. They didnt show up for court.

To cut right into the meat of the situation , he is in jail because the Mexican Government is a very corrupt state. Our leaders here are afraid that if we don't do things their way, that they (the Mexicans) might get mad at us.
