Well from the start mine were irregular. It is said that it takes two years for a woman's cycle to become regular.
Or she could go on the birth control pill, and that will help regulate her period too. She may want to do this if say, she goes two months without a period, then has one for two weeks. Very difficult to manage, and super annoying. Also if she's sexually active, she may be ovulating at a time when she thinks she isn't, and has unprotected sex. The BCP will help her peace of mind. Hope this helps your research!!

Age doesn't have anything to do with irregular periods. I know a girl who is in her late 30s and still has irregular periods. I'm 20 and my cycle is 35-42 days long. It makes TTC harder but that's about it.

Sex can sometimes effect periods, especially the first few times you have sex.

Periods don't come on specific dates, they come on cycle days, for exampe if a girl has a 28 day cycle(the average) and she starts her period on the 1st, she would start her period again on the 29th of the same month.

In my teenage years, my period was so off that they were about to put me on birth control. I would have it for 3 days, nothing for 6 weeks, and then have it again for 2 weeks. Never knew when it was coming or ending. Horrible time with it until I finally did start taking BC at 18. Now they come like clockwork even when I am not on BC.

that is one question you will never get an answer to..mine were crazy and all off and then for about a year straight they were exactly the same time every month then went back to being irregular..anything can mess up a girls period..especially stress!! stress can make you miss it for months..it all depends on the girl and the girls body and no two girls are alike..they are all different in their own way-they come when they want to!!

well I started my period when i was 15 years old---my period was pretty regular for liek 1 year--and then i would get it like
one month on the 5th and then next month like the 15th and the folliwng month liek the 15th so my cycles were pretty long--until i got on birth control then in went to normal--but i would get my period mostly like every 1 1/2 months.
