Enoch Powell was the best Prime Minister we never had. He was very priescent about immigration and was spot on in his warnings. If only we had listened to him, we would be much better off today.
It's only the racist bigots on the left who are anti-English who claim he was a racist. His views on immigration where never about race, but about numbers of foreign people, (regardless of race), who where coming into this country and NOT integrating.
Setting up ghettos of different nationalities in this country and desecrating British culture on the alter of some loony, fantasised cloud cuckoo land 'multiculturalism' agenda is NOT integration.
I do respect other cultures in their countries, I do not support the destruction of our culture here.
How is it right for someone, British born and bred, to suddenly (within the last 3 years) not be able to recognise their own home town as being British anymore as it has been taken over by foreigners who have no intention at all of living in Britain as a British person, but decide to turn where they live into some foreign enclave?
Why the F*CK should I respect their cultures AT ALL when they are determined to destroy mine?
I used to be one of the most culturally aware and utterly non racist people I knew, I used to argue for cultural diversity, and I welcomed immigration as a welcome diversity and enrichment of our culture. Controlled immigration could do this. Adding the good from foriegn cultures into our own and enhancing Britishness was, I thought, a good idea. BUT now the government are taking the piss.
The wholesale flood of the foreign invasion, promoted and encouraged by a police state mentality Government is far more of a threat to our way of life than 1000 Al queda's.
It has gone too far and I am terribly sorry to say, I was wrong. Enoch Powell was right.

A very bigoted narrow minded one but I would have to agree that some of his fears have become reality, though he only had a glimpse of what the change to immigration policy would do as things have moved at a pace since his soap box rants

Yes, I still think his predictions will come true some day if things carry on the way they are, and he had good ideas too, like giving people free tickets, such a generous man.

To a degree yes he did have foresight, but he supported immigration into Britain for quite a while before he turned his coat. so he was guilty of hypocrisy.
