Almost all religions have a violent hateful twist to them. And almost all of them advocate or excuse violent actions taken against groups other than ones own. A person does not even have to go very far into the Bible to see that Judaism itself also carries that trait or at a minimum did at one time. whether they act upon it or not their religion carries with it laws that would allow for them to act violently towards others simply based on religion. Christianity and Islam, religions who's pedigrees are both traced back to Judaism are the ones who have historically carried the violence to its most extreme. The biggest factor if looked at carefully is whether or not they have enough control within any given society or govt. to actually amass armies. Islamic extremists currently have that kind of pull all over the world, and it would seem that if you follow the rhetoric and angry exteremism of many Christians today it may be only a matter of time before we see more violence from them. For now they are content to let the Israelis do their dirty work, while they try to take over the control of the civilized world, especially the US through it's political structures. Religion is by its very nature devisive and spiteful,it always carries with it an attitude that if you are not like them then you are in their eyes nothing, which of course allows them to do anything they want without remorse or guilt. The crusades and the inquisition were a long time ago and Christians love to remind people of that, but if anyone thinks they would not become as power hungry and violent as too much of Islam right now if they had the power to,then you are sadly mistaken.

History has shown that religion has been one of the top reasons for going to war. Usually, however, it is a branch group of a larger religion that spark the fights. They are called extremists. Humans have a way of manipulating others into believing just about anything. Just look at Bush and how he using his "fellow" Christians.

People are violent, religion isn't, or shouldn't be at least. The problem is aside from a feeling of immortality and monetary gain, the next thing many humans want is power. Whats the easiest way to get power? Kill everyone that might challenge your power.

Pple are not peaceful. Whenever a group of pple come together fr the same cause, there are always politics, drama, jealousy & fighting words [these are all unpeaceful things]. Whoever leads a group of hate & war may be the mastermind, but & therefore, people in general are not peaceful no matter the creed.

Some people just use it to justify a means and try to persuade others who believe in the same to fight for their cause.

Buddhism is probable the only ingredient that ought to make any experience for you. that's one in all the few that acknowledges the value of all the others. that's fairly rational and you sound such as you're too. You have been made for another. Love and reward Don

It's all about "Whose peace?" To many religions, peace means no other religions ("I am the Lord thy God, thou shall have no other gods besides me", etc.)
There are some truely peaceful religions (Jainism comes to mind, killing anything at all is strictly against their religion), but many subscribe to that first belief.

Religions don't kill people. People kill people. They just use religion to try to justify it.
