im tudying the new c & g level 2330 in electrotechnical electrical installation (electrician course), with my age (26yrs) im finding it difficult to find an employer to take me on so i can get experience as this course is not easy at all.
it will make it more easier being employed in the trade.
im on my first year.

persistence its the only thing, show prospective employers you are serious by keeping in regular communication and look at all the employers in your area and target them all with your C.V, as a nice touch if it is at all possible hand deliver the C.V

It might also be worth your while going down to any of the local careers advice people and seeing if they have any arrangements with prospective employers

Contact your local electricians, the electricity board or similar companies and offer your services free, explaining you are just looking for experience. They may well offer you a p/t job.

Even if they don't, the fact you volunteered will look great on your c.v when you qualify. It shows an employer you are interested in the profession and are prepared to put yourself out for others.

Bulletin boards around campus sometimes have job postings.

More likely, check the career center, counseling office, etc. There should be postings there as well.

Check your division office for job postings.

#1 way to get a job while in school: Talk to your professors. Especially the part-time professors. They probably still work in the field and have the contacts you need.

You should phone round company's your self and ask if they take on students for work experience, i am a nursing student and did this got a placement that i want i am also 26 so there is hope ,good luck.

Join the union. My wife did and now they are paying her to go to school 1 day every 2 weeks and they suppy her with a fulltime job

I would assume you will be undertaking a work placement while studying.
