It could be simply because it's different to her previous stuff but towards the height of the song I can't help but think she's just shouting instead of singing?

She isn't shouting at all. She is trying to do something new, she don't wanna do all the same stuff all the other RnB singers are doing nowadays. She's just singing with what is going on in the song. She is saying 'I'm out of control' and that is how she performs it and how she sings it. I think it's something new fresh and entertaining. I believe she is heading in the right direction, I love her new album B'Day, I love Ring The Alarm (her next single) and I love the music she is making. People need to lighten up and cut her some slack. She is trying something new so why don't we try to appreciate it.

Shouting

shouting, that is the poorest excuse for a hit song since survivor by destiny's child. but with that song there is no medoldy, its not rap, it has nothing except her yelling but america tells us we should like it therefore we do. Plus her new song Ring the aIarm is 10 times worse. I am willing to bet that if i recorded a song right now, and the radio stations and mtv/vh1 played it all the time, the american people would think its great no matter what the quality. its all about selling out now. like everclear, awesome band, then fame happened and it go weak, it only improved now because they are out of the spotlight.

She's singing in the track, "Deja Vu." She also released "Ring the Alarm," (well, the vid, at least, don't know why when the former is still on the charts) in which she both sings AND shouts.

To me it's all shouting, now I like most of her music but I do think she was trying to hard and it was way over the top - it just doesn't have any rythmn in it at all. It doesn't suit her but on the other hand she experimented and went with it and hey presto it worked. I definitely won't be turning the volume up on that song!!

S**t if i could 'shout' like that id be happy...its a wicked tune!!

As for the dancing, looks kind of tribal but still good....surely Beyonce is a package? Does she ever just sit on a stool & sing quietly??

I think not !

Sounds good on my stereo :-)

Honey, if you want to hear what she sounds like when she's yelling, then listen to her kick-*** song, Ring the Alarm. Now THAT is some fantastic yelling. No one can yell like Beyonce!
