my computer is all messed up, it is going MUCH slower than normal does. almost every time i go to a new page it says....
"shockwave flash - - the plug-in has performed an illegal operation. you are strongly advised to restart firefox."
alot of times it will close the page and say that it has encountered a problem or something.
and if i watch a video it will freeze up the page and i have to close it.
please help!

Scan for viruses. Use something other than Norton, McAfee, & TrendMicro.
Scan for Spyware & Adaware. Download Adaware, Spybot S&D, Spyware Blaster. Run these.
Scandisk & Defrag.

First of all, try a virus scan. However, the computer starts working very slow if your hard drive(s) are heavily fragmented. Try defragmenting your hard disk(s) either by the built-in defragmenter, or by an external one, such as O&O or Diskeeper.
Another problem might be a corrupted registry. Registry Mechanic can fix it.
I don't think it's a virus problem, don't panic.

in firefox ....go to tools - extensions - remove the shockwave ......if this does not help ....you may well need to check if you have picked up and spyware/malware .....
