Say I wanted to start trading stocks. Could I start an LLC to trade stocks for me, as the company's sole purpose. Pretty much as if the company was trading for me. I have no securities trading licence. But there should be some tax advantages for having a company that owns a stock instead of an individual. I was wondering if I could do that with an LLC. If not, are there any other corporate entities that could?

Yes. You just need to open the brokerage account in the LLC's name.

As to tax advantages, check with your accountant. A lot will depend on whether you elect to pay taxes as a partnership or as a corporation.
