If you're going to have sex, according to the law, yes. If a 23 year old has sex with a 17 yo they can be jailed and have to register as a sex offender.

Yes. The age difference is significant. The result is a power difference and the 23 year old will be far more skilled at manipulation. The 17 year old is at risk of being convinced, even ever so sweetly, of believing in things that are not in their best interest. There is something wrong with a 23 year old that wants to be more than friends with the 17 year old.

No it is not wrong. It is thee most normal thing in the world for a young woman to fall in love with an older man.
The law says you must be old enough to vote, before you can have Sex. If that makes sense to you, why does a female pass puberty before she is 14. Nature says you are ready for love, when you are old enough to have children. If that is wrong, then Mother Nature is wrong.

In any case, When I was 24, I dated a girl who was 16. I married the girl on December 10, 1946,
You do the arithmetic. Our 60th anniversary will be this year and just a couple of months away.

Date the guy, but make sure that you take all precautions not to get pregnant. Nothing takes the fire out of a love affair, like an unwanted child. and both of you are too young to be burdened with that responsibility.

Live your life and enjoy your youth, You have plenty of time to raise a family.

Good Luck to both of you.

Who's 23? The guy or girl. Either way I think it would be okay as long as the parents of the 17 year old don't have a problem with it. If they do, there could be problems with the law.

No, you are a young woman and he is a young man. Age difference not unusual. To put it in perspective you may marry at 17, join the military, and many other things at 17. Also you are probably closer to your 18th b-day than not. Also for most states including your own you are at the age of consent. Vary vary rare even in other states for anyone to interfere with an almost 18yr olds relationship etc. Also for all those misinformed about statutory rape etc. the courts would need a willing victim to cooperate, if the young woman/man denies sexual activity, unless a child is involved where DNA etc. can be taken there is no case.

No it is perfectly normal. You're only 6 years apart! Now, legally it is wrong until the 17 year old is 18. But keep it hush hush until then! If a parent does not agrre with the relationship they can file rape charges.
