I found out since my puberty started and even younger than that, but I could never admit it to myself. I was subconsciously thinking that it was just a phase and that I was just straight fantasizing about men, but temporarily.
I actually said to myself "oh god, I am gay" when I was having my lunch, I was 15 I think. Of course I didn't finish the lunch after that lol.

Honestly, I really don't have any idea of when I knew I was gay, it's more a question of when I accepted being gay.
I guess I always knew. All of my childhood crushes were to other girls, my fantasies during adolescence were always of other girls.
But I wasn't raised in an area where being gay was socially acceptable. My mother was very active in politics and government affairs, I played the "good daughter" and did nothing that would embarasse my mother or look bad for her career. My father was in Television, same story there as well.
None of my friends were gay, not that there weren't gays in my school. But those guys were a cliche' of their own. All the little girls fawned over these theatre guys. But no girl would be caught dead kissing another girl.
So, I lived the lie of being straight. I played the role I had seen played over and over by my community and family.
It wasn't until I was out of high school that I had my first lesbian experience, real lesbian experience. It felt so natural to me, so much like what I was supposed to feel. But I knew that if I actually came out and said I was actually a lesbian that I would be ostrisized by my social circle. So I continued to pretend that I was straight. I even thought that if I married and had children that I would be 'cured' of my feelings for girls.
It didn't happen. I was miserable and depressed.
Only once I finally accepted who I was and stoped fearing what others would think or say, did I come out of my depression.
Thankfully I came out of it to find a wonderful, loving and supportive family waiting for me. All my self doubt and self loathing simply lifted.
I now have a great partner and a happy teenage son.
It took knowing that only once I was happy would I ever be able to raise my son to be self confident and happy as well.
I was right.

I would say that I realized I was gay during high school, late senior year (so I was 17).
I started to look at my AP Creative Writing teacher in a different light than someone else in my position probably would have, plus there was always football... huh....
Yeah, but I had a girlfriend, and we broke after high school ended (she moved for college). So I probably didn't officially come out until I was 18...

This questions will get varied responses, many of which will be ALL correct.
Myself, I was about 5. At school, I went to the bathroom, and this boy beside me, pulled his pants down to his ankles to pee. Curious, and aware of this boy-meet-boy feeling, I touched his naked bum.
I was shocked that I actually enjoyed it. From there, I knew I would be gay. I went through the stages of 'hetro' relationships, got married and had kids. But in all, I still knew that I would be gay.
Today, I have a great boyfriend, and yet still have the support of a loving family.
Being out to myself, really helped being accepted by others.

I knew in Kindergarden, though I thought I was the only one with "those' kind of feelings until middle school. It was never a choice, in fact, because of my religious upbringing, I tried to choose to not be gay for years - not possible for me, its part of how I am naturally.
