Hopefully, you have or can get an electric carpet scrubber. Fabric softener instantly dissolves soap bubbles. Use the Fabric softener, and warm water in the tank of the scrubber, and keep it over the soap area for awhile. Then dump the tank, and refill it like the first time, then go over the spot again. Depending on how much soap comes out of the carpet and pad, you may have to repeat this process a few times. Your carpet is not dirty, it just has soap in it, what you are really doing is drawing out the soap, so your not hurting your carpet. I would use about 1/2 cup of softener, to approximately one gallon of warm water. If you see any bubbles from the soap, then you will know you need to add more softener to the tank. Good Luck.
PS: Then Lastly do a clear water rinse, maybe do two - ok.

Lots of water. Use a steam cleaner with plain water on the spot until you get the soap out. You might want to use a defoaming agent in the water to avoid the bubbles.

Mix one cup of white vinegar to one gallon of water. Apply to stain and blot with clean towels, or extract with a shop vac. Repeat until soap is gone.

rent a steam cleaner and extract it out with just water in your tank and some defoamer, which you can buy where you rent the machine. This should come out easily, but remember to put the defoamer in your return (dirty water) tank or you will have lots of suds coming out of the machine and it will stop working until it is cleaned cleaned out.
