yes, I think many prefer it that way. Many like illusions not reality. It is evident when considering the idea of preventing the experience of all suffering/pain...it's like taking the soma pill in the "The Brave New World"...dulling the senses, making us no more than robots w/ no freewill. Karl Marx expresses the same when he said "religion is the opiate of the masses'.

Pain alerts us to something that is wrong...suffering has the ability to strengthen character.

We love 'instant gratification'...love the lofty goals but do not have/want to use the vision (process + goal).

.Yup...Sure is.

By my reckoning, 'bout 40 percent artificial. I looked on the box it came in. I can read that stuff too, you know.

Just like all those people saying you shouldn't have sex and all. When they go home, guess what they do. Oops was that a secret. You mean they have sex and we don't?
How clever of them.

Oh yeah. The homeless problem is another good example. So far the best solution is to truck the homeless from one part of the city to another so they are not so easily seen by the high noses. Hey, how about giving them a home? Isn't that what was the original problem? Maybe that is just to simple for politicians

Not all of society. Individuals in the media i.e. news, sports, entertainment and especially politics are the individuals that lead us to believe that the society as a whole is artificial.

Not at all; it's the natural progression -- evolution, if you will -- of human interaction, based on the past behaviors of billions of human beings over 25,000 years of civilization.

Now, if you were trying to invent some "brave new world" with completely arbitrary rules based on what you thought was the "right" way for humans to behave -- say, you were going to try to FORCE boys to play with dolls and girls with toy trucks -- THAT would be "artificial"....

Society is an illusion that everyone follows.
A society is a self-reproducing grouping of individuals occupying a particular territory, which may have its own distinctive culture and institutions. As culture is generally considered unique to humans, the terms "society" and "human society" have the same meaning. "Society," may refer to a particular people, such as the Nuer, to a nation state, such as Austria, or to a broader cultural group, such as Western society.

No, not at all, it's too big 2B artificial. It's V only, V R the society, society consists of us, V R real, hence, our society's also real, not artificial.
