OMG - it becomes your job. Laugh if you will but I went through this for the better part of 20 years. I would call and they would ask me if I knew his address and/or where he was working. Of course I didn't, I hadn't heard from him in years and years and years. And they would tell me that when I had information to offer them to call them back. WHAT? Isn't that their job? Apparently, not. I diligently did my homework over the years trying to hunt the bas*ard down and it finally paid off. My daughter was 25 years old by the time he finished paying off his arrears.
Good luck with that!
Imani is wrong! The child NEVER gets the money. It will ALWAYS go to the mother. Just check around. I am right.

Then they wait until they can find the parent, and you'll still owe all that money.. you'll just have less time to pay more. If the kid is 3, and they want you to pay 200 a month in child support until the child is 18, then that equals $36,000 .. wether they can find you or not. If they don't find you until the kid is 18, then you're going to owe the child $36,000 , instead of the mother... you're going to owe the same amount no matter when they find you.

If he files his taxes, you can put a lein on the federal taxes and garnish his tax check!!. He CAN be found if you light a fire under the child support agency in your city. Be very persistant!!.

You are screwed.
You can get a lien on future income, through their social security number, and you can apoply for welfare, and when the idiot IS found, you will get your $$ (hopefully) and the state will go after him to repay what was given to you via welfare.
