Wow ! The perfect example of the law of conservation of misery !!! You finally found it !!! This law states the following:
Misery is not created or destroyed, it is simply transformed
By finding a four leaf clover under a ladder, the good fortune (hence. negative misery) generated by the four leaf clover is exactly balanced by the bad fortune (hence, positive misery) of the ladder, bringing the sum of Misery Entropy back to a zero balance as shown below:
Em = E4lc + E lad = 0
where:
Em = Total Misery Entropy of the system
E4lc = Misery Entropy of the 4 leaf clover
Elad = Misery Entropy of the ladder
I propose you for this year's Physics Nobel prize, you have indeed found a very profound revelation regarding the miserable nature of our universe :-)

I don't know if I would touch it.
On my 11th birthday, my friend and I were walking along and a ladder was against a building where some repairs had been done. I walked under the ladder and my friend told me that was bad luck. I didn't believe in that stuff.
Well, when I went home for dinner, I looked around for my birthday cake only to see nothing. I forget but my mom gave me some lame excuse. I haven't walked under another ladder since.

while clasping my lucky rabbit's foot and throwing salt over my left shoulder, I'd kick the clover out from under the ladder and then pick it up.

Lol. I never thought of that but I suppose you'll find your good luck in your bad luck kinda like dating a frog on the outside and realising he's a total gem on the inside.

I guess they'd rule each other out? Or maybe you'll have really good luck followed by very bad luck. I'm not sure which of the two options I'd rather take!
