Given the attitude of some, I would have to say that the leader most revered in the 20th century had to be John F. Kennedy. I say that because he had a lot of charisma, was a very intelligent man, and had the horrible misfortune to be murdered before his VP or staff could do something stupid and embarrass him.

The over all BEST leader of the 20th century won't be decided for a few more years due to all the emotional bickering that would come of the question.

Probably, and erroneously so, was Hitler, at least until Germany started losing the war.

Among decent human beings, I would suggest Pope JPII ,Pope John 23, or Mahatma Ghandi.
